Game Collection Roundtable 09/20/2015: Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson (3DS), Bowser Jr Amiibo, Steamalot (PC), Gryphon Knight Epic (PC)

Every week, the Diehard GameFAN team adds new games to their collections. Sometimes they are new releases, physical or digital, DLC or full games, but they are all building blocks in our greater collections.

Gryphon Knight Epic (PC)
Dropsy (PC)

I haven’t bought a game in a while, sadly, because college is awful and I probably should have done it a while ago… oh, yes, and most of the games coming out at this point are kind of eh. That doesn’t mean I haven’t acquired anything, though, as I’ve been working on review copies of Gryphon Knight Epic (which went up a couple days ago) and Dropsy (which will be going up soon), so let’s talk about those. Gryphon Knight Epic is… probably one of the more depressing shooters I’ve played in a while, if only because it has a lot of really good ideas, but the final game just… isn’t fun. On the other hand, Dropsy feels like an LSD dream and I’m… honestly pretty sure I love it, and not just because it’s a throwback to when adventure games were more involved than the current walking simulators and Telltale Games fare of late.

Steamalot (PC) – Got this one for review. It’s a strange tactical RPG that uses a deck of cards that represent your characters, equipment, and abilities. I’m still up in the air about the gameplay, but I’m not too impressed with the rest of the package so far. Should have a review up before long.

Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson (3DS)
Bowser Jr amiibo
Dr. Mario amiibo
Olimar amiibo

I received Senran Kagura 2 for review (which you can check out now!) and of the amiibos obtained, I only had to wait in line for one. I was fortunate enough to obtain the rest via online ordering.
