Game Collection Roundtable 08/02/2015: Magic Duels Origins (PC), The Swindle (PS4, PS3, Vita), Warmachine/Hordes

Every week, the Diehard GameFAN team adds new games to their collections. Sometimes they are new releases, physical or digital, DLC or full games, but they are all building blocks in our greater collections.

  • Magic Duels (PC)

Magic Duels (PC): It looks like MTG took a few leaves out of Hearthstone’s book. My boyfriend was playing it yesterday and it looks pretty good, so I was looking forward to giving it a spin. It’s pretty good! Right now they’re having a LOT of connectivity issues, so I hope they smooth that over soon. A lot of the skill quests are borked as well. Otherwise, the game looks really promising in the long run.

  • Lost Dimension (Vita)
  • Life is Strange: Episode 4 – Dark Room (PS4)
  • Magic Duels Origins (PC)

Lost Dimension (Vita) – Mark kept talking this game up, and it and looked like my kind of game to begin with. Already played it a bunch in the few hours I’ve had it. The tactical gameplay isn’t as deep as I would have hoped, but it’s reasonable. Culling out the traitor though. That’s awesome. It’s pretty darn addicting just trying to weed them out, let alone trying to make sure your team gets the vote right. Hopefully the momentum continues forward.

Life is Strange: Episode 4 – Dark Room (PS4) – My review this is already up on the site! Check it out! This series is absolutely fantastic and one of my favorite things this year. Episode 5 can’t come soon enough, especially with that insane cliff hanger they threw our way.

Magic Duels Origins (PC) – Magic: The Gathering has always been a hobby of mine. Recently, I’ve gotten even more into it thanks to some friends finally showing some real interest. Origins is an interesting change of pace for the franchise, as it is free to play. So far, it’s an improvement. The interface is cleaner, two-headed giant is back, and you can complete quests (much like Hearthstone) to earn coins. It encourages coming back to play in a much better way. I’m sure I’ll have something up for it on the site soon.
