Game Collection Roundtable 02/21/2015: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS), Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Sniper Elite III 360

Every week, the Diehard GameFAN team adds new games to their collections. Sometimes they are new releases, physical or digital, DLC or full games, but they are all building blocks in our greater collections.

Aileen

  • Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)

I got this with an eShop gift card Mark gave me (thank you!). I’ve basically been glued to my 3DS trying to raise my HR and gather enough to make a full armor set (and hopefully hold up alright whenever I get to play with other people). I’m really liking the insect glaive (whee pole vaulting to mount monsters), though dual blades are also as fun as ever. I still need to give other weapons more of a whirl.

Now if you’ll excuse me I have more monster to hunt.

Crystal

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition (PS4)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D (3DS)
  • Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)

I haven’t picked up any new games in a while, so of course now I get three high quality games in a week and get to struggle over which one I want to play. I’ve put in the most time on Dragon Age: Inquisition as a human female, and am loving it so far. I have also put some time into Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (thanks again to Mark for the gift!), and I can see how it will be addictive. The boyfriend wanted to try it, played it for a few hours, and now might be picking up his own copy, so once again Mark’s extended his influence beyond DHGF, so Capcom should be pleased. I still need to get to a point where I’ll be helpful in a group, though. Lastly, I haven’t yet touched Majora’s Mask, which is kind of ironic given that I was way more excited about it coming out than I was for Ocarina of Time 3D, but between trying to figure out what kind of person I want to be in Dragon Age: Inquisition, school, and work, I haven’t had the chance to do anything with it.

Basically, my gaming choices have been made for me for the foreseeable future.

Aaron

  • Metro Redux (PS4)
  • Murdered: Soul Suspect (PS4)
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)
  • Watch Dogs (PS4)
  • Awesomenauts Assembled (PS4)

I told you guys I have problems. That’s five new games I bought this week. I’ve wanted to play through the Metro games for awhile. My PC isn’t good enough to really handle the first game, and I didn’t want to play the second on PS3 (which I got from Plus) until I played the first. Now I have them both on one disc. Soul Suspect didn’t garner top reviews or rewards, but I’ll give it a shot for ten bucks. I like adventure games, after all. Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein were not on the top of my list, but again, I got them for ten bucks a pop. I’m sure I can get my money’s worth out of them. Finally, I bought my third copy of Awesomenauts. I just love the game, and the more systems I can play it on, the better. I’d buy a Vita version in a heartbeat if they made it.

Matt Yaeger

  • Sniper Elite III 360
  • South Park Stick of Truth PS3

They were on sale.

Widro

  • The Order: 1886 (PS4)
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Wii U)

First two big console releases of the year for me this weekend, and so far I’m not that thrilled with Kirby and would have preferred something less touch-screen.
