Every week, the Diehard GameFAN team adds new games to their collections. Sometimes they are new releases, physical or digital, DLC or full games, but they are all building blocks in our greater collections.
- NES Remix (Wii U)
- Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)
Ugh 1500 coins to spend on the end of Club Nintendo and it’s mostly crap or stuff I already own. These were my best options and I still have 500 coins left to spend. I’m waiting on some of the other options I was interested to get fixed (broken links).
- Criminal Girls: Invite Only (Vita)
Technically I downloaded this last week but since it came out this week I feel it’s more appropriate to talk about it now. I’ve also downloaded all of the free games available for the various services (and frankly, comparing Yakuza 4 or to a lesser extent Transistor to a weird pixel art game on the Xbox One is just depressing), and if you haven’t yet, at least try to grab Rogue Legacy or Yakuza 4 for the Vita and PS3 respectively, as they’re both a pretty good time.
Insofar as Criminal Girls goes, man, I’m like 90% done with the whole game (as in, I have five more endings to unlock and I have beaten literally everything done), and I still don’t know what to say about how I actually feel about it. I mean, I know some people are mad that it’s about spanking and punishing girls, and other people are mad that it’s censored, but I mean, it’s mostly fine if you’re not horribly offended about either of those things. I don’t know if it’s worth $40, and frankly I’d probably have priced it around $30, but it’s fine regardless; the plot gets really good in the late game, and there’s a shitload of content, but it’s grind heavy as hell, so it’s not great, but not awful either. I don’t know man.
- Rogue Legacy
Grabbed Transistor, Apotheon, and Rogue Legacy for PS4 off my PS Plus, grabbed the others for PS3 and the Vita, but haven’t downloaded them yet. If I have time to get to them I look forward to giving Thief and Yakuza 4 a shot on PS3. Kick & Fennick for the Vita looked kind of interesting, but so much to do.
- Star Wars Humble Bundle (PC)
- EA Sports UFC (PS4)
- Far Cry 4 (PS4)
- Peggle 2 (PS4)
- Kickbeat: Special Edition (PS4)
- Life is Strange (PS4)
- Unmechanical Extended (PS4)
- The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)
- Game of Thrones Episode 2 (PS3)
- Crosswords Plus (3DS)
- Gunman Clive 2 (3DS)
- Dr. Mario Express (3DS)
So I got a PS4 over the weekend. For retail copies I grabbed UFC and Far Cry 4. I’m king of regretting UFC because it is vastly inferior to the Undisputed franchise. Far Cry is awesome though. I got to ride an elephant mere moments after parachuting out of a mini helicopter. That’s just awesome. I have reviews up for Life is Strange, Unmechanical, and Game of Thrones if you want to know my thoughts on those. I used the ten dollar code that came with my PS4 to grab my fourth copy of Kickbeat. I love that game so much that I own it for every console I have that you can get it on. Peggle 2 was on sale and something I was willing to risk a few bucks on. The Last of Us came with my PS4 as well, but is a more than welcome addition. Sean laid out the contents of the Star Wars bundle in his post, so feel free to check out the list there. But I’ll just add that the 12 bucks minimum you have to pay for all of those makes the list a steal. I can’t wait to give Empire at War a shot. I used my Club Nintendo points to snag Crosswords. The other big ticket items were mostly stuff that I own and/or beat at some point already. It was either this or fill out some surveys to get the last forty points to get Kid Icarus. I’m just not that into on rails shooters. Plus I kind of like crossword puzzles on occasion. Gunman Clive 2 was an instant purchase once I saw it was up. It’s only a few bucks, and it’s a brilliant love letter to the action platformers of old. As for Dr. Mario? Well I just felt like I needed a copy of that game on something besides the GBA slot on my old broken DS. So yeah. It’s going to take me a long time to sort through all of this stuff. Plus I got more on the way. I should probably be stopped.
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (Steam)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Steam)
- Star Wars: Empire at War (Steam)
- Star Wars: Republic Commando (Steam)
- Star Wars: Battlefront II (Steam)
- Star Wars: Dark Forces (Steam)
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (Steam)
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Steam)
Humble Bundle currently has a Star Wars bundle up consisting of the above games (and some yet to be revealed ones) all for $12. It’s worth it for the KOTOR games alone, but to get all of those is an absolute steal. And hey, that money goes to a good cause.
- Yakuza 4
Grabbed the free games for PS Plus but didn’t really try them out. Light few days until the Nintendo mini February flood and The Order hits PS4 later in the month.
