Super Smash Bros 2014 News: Return of King Dedede

As confirmed on the Smash Bros website this morning, King Dedede is returning for Super Smash Bros For Wii U/3DS.  He’ll still be sporting his hammer for his main attacks, and while it seems like his Up B recovery is still intact, Waddle Dees are surprisingly not pictured.  I think it’s safe to assume they’ll be back as well, but we’ll see as we move forward.  As usual, a new character coincides with a game’s release, this time Kirby Triple Deluxe in Japan.  The next big game coming out will be Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, so we may see Diddy (or maybe Dixie!) coming soon.

Dedede, at least as far as we can tell from the screenshots, will be largely the same as he was in Brawl, albeit more expressive, which matches the aesthetic of the game on the whole.

Are you happy to see D3 back?  Wanting to see other characters?  Let us know in the comments, and we’ll bring more as it’s available.
