Zelda News: Four Swords Anniversary Edition Coming September 28th, Miyamoto On Length of Skyward Swords

It is the 25th anniversary of the original Legend of Zelda game on NES, and Nintendo has quite a bit prepared to celebrate.

Of course the major holiday release will be Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword which is set for release on November 20th and will have a collector’s edition featuring a gold Wii Remote.

According to Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, the game is expected to be no shorter than 50 hours, and more likely to exceed 100 hours for most gamers.

If that weren’t enough Zelda to celebrate, Nintendo has also announced that The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition will be available to download between Sept. 28th, 2011, and Feb. 20th, 2012. Fans can download the Nintendo DSiWare™ version of the game using their Nintendo DSi™ or Nintendo DSi XL™ systems, or by accessing the Nintendo eShop with a Nintendo 3DS system.

Unlike the original, all multiplayer game play is handled wirelessly. Once players finish the main quest, they will unlock new stages and abilities to expand the game’s replay value.
