Game Collection Roundtable 05/07/2016: Project X Zone 2, Mario Kart Double Dash!! (GC), Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky (Vita)

Every week, the Diehard GameFAN team adds new games to their collections. Sometimes they are new releases, physical or digital, DLC or full games, but they are all building blocks in our greater collections.

I was waiting for PxZ2 to hit around the $20 sweet spot and they finally came through for me. I would’ve picked it up sooner, but the amount of hours it took to complete the first one really burned me out on the concept. The addition of the Yakuza cast is ultimately what brought me back into the fold.

Wow… I… bought a game for Ishikawa Kaito. Well I don’t know what to say about that.

So against my better judgment, I grabbed that before the PSN Golden Week Sale ended. Over the weekend I heard that Project X Zone was pulled from the Nintendo eShop. Now I own a physical copy so I wasn’t worried but I still didn’t own the sequel which I never picked up at launch day. On Amazon, Project X Zone (regular or Limited Edition) is now $50+ so I decided I better grab Project X Zone 2 as a physical copy while I still had a chance. Got it for $20 so I can’t be mad.

My brother was making space in his house for his upcoming second kid, so I was given a big box full of old games. It has games for the Gamecube, DS and PS3. This has made me noticed that my brother is obsessed with dragons and robots, as the box is filled with lesser titles that just happened to one of these things on the cover. There are some really good games in there though, including:

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (Gamecube)
Lego Star Wars (Gamecube)
Lego Star Wars II (Gamecube)
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Gamecube)
X-Men Legends II (Gamecube)
Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube)
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS3)
Dragon Age: Origins (PS3)
Dragon Age II (PS3)
Grand Theft Auto V (PS3)
Far Cry 3 (PS3)
Fallout 3 (PS3)
Fallout New Vegas (PS3)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (DS)

Those are only the games I have an interest in. While I have played most of the Gamecube ones before, I’m very stoked to go through Paper Mario again. I have never played any of the PS3 games however. I should be busy for a while. I will catalog the whole box soon and will talk about the games I know a bit less about next week.
