Pokemon Bank Comes to North America
by Aileen Coe on February 6, 2014

After a month long delay caused by the implementation of Nintendo Network IDs on the 3DS and the resultant flood of new NNIDs, Pokemon Bank is now available to download in North America. Users can download and try the application for free for 30 days if they download it by March 14. After the free trial, the service will cost $4.99 per year. Its companion application, Pokemon Transporter, is required to transfer Pokemon from Generation V games (Pokemon Black and White and Pokemon Black and White 2), and the transaction is one way – once you deposit Pokemon into the Bank, you can’t withdraw them again with those games, only with X/Y.

In addition, those who download Pokemon Bank before September 30th, 2014 can also get a free Celebi. It comes at level 10 and with the event-exclusive move Hold Back, which has the same effect as False Swipe and leaves the target at 1 HP.
