Game Collection Roundtable 10/31/2015: WWE 2K16 (PS4), SUPERBEAT: XONiC (Vita), Norn9: Var Commons (Vita)

Every week, the Diehard GameFAN team adds new games to their collections. Sometimes they are new releases, physical or digital, DLC or full games, but they are all building blocks in our greater collections.

Norn9: Var Commons (Vita) – Of all the games that finally pushed me over the edge into picking up a Vita, it ended up being the two pretty boy sims – I mean, otomes – coming out around the same time, but here we are. I picked this up for review, and so far I like it. The premise is interesting, and it’s also got music by Nobuo Uematsu, which is pretty rad.

Crystal

The only game I’ve picked up recently was Tales of Zestiria (PS4) for review. The review should be out soon, but I guess I can say without getting into too much detail that I am really liking the game so far.

WWE 2K16 (PS4) – Got this for review. There are things that I love, things that I hate, and things I’m relieved they didn’t leave out this time. It’s a whole bevy of emotions playing this thing. Either way, that roster is phenomenal, and it’s still better than 2K15!

SUPERBEAT: XONiC (Vita) – Also got this for review. It is a damned hard rhythm game that has been giving me fits. That being said, it’s strangely addictive and rewarding when I do well. It’s been an interesting year for the genre, and I’ve certainly worn out the buttons on my Vita.

200% Mixed Juice (PC) – Also got this for review. Deja Vu! Anyway, this is kind of a mish mash Pokemon clone with a more simplistic scheme. I’m not all that impressed, but it’s inoffensive and kind of cute. A bit too grindy though.

Knights of Pen and Paper 2 (PC) – Bought this one so I could review it as well. Yeah. I kind of overdid it this past week. Anyway, it makes some improvements over the original, but lacks in other areas. I’m glad I got it, but I was hoping for something more.

Mercenaries Saga 2 (3DS) – Aileen told me about this game. It’s a five dollar eshop game that takes inspiration from Final Fantasy Tactics. SOLD! Been playing it on the way to work. Definitely worth five bucks.

Some last bits of P4D DLC! (Vita) – Got the free costume pack. Not sure why the Featherman set came in two different parts spread across two weeks, but oh well. Also bought one of the music videos because I had a buck burning a hole in my PSN wallet. You basically play the game with a video replacing the dance sequence. It’s kind of lame, and not something worth spending money on.

Madson

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (3DS)
Yoshi’s Woolly World (w/ Green Yarn Yoshi amiibo) (Wii U)
Pink Yarn Yoshi amiibo
Blue Yarn Yoshi amiibo

After Mark generously supplied me with the pink and blue yarn yoshi amiibos, I couldn’t not finish the set, so I picked up Yoshi’s Woolly World with the green Yoshi in it. I also picked up the latest Zelda multiplayer title, even though it sucks even more to play by yourself than the last one did.

DTN

Thankfully I’m not picking up anything this week. I’m not going to lie but Trails in the Sky Second Chapter may be tempting and may as well be a good as time as ever to finally get Trails in the Sky

I picked up the Persona 4 Dancing All Night free DLC because why not

Widro

it is the spooky scary halloween edition of the GCR!!!

I picked up wwe 2k16 because i love putting on all-cpu controlled royal rumbles as i work. however today cole just said someone was going to get DQed and it made me sad the game was so bad.
