Sony has announced sales figures for PS4 in the North American and Europe markets in which it launched in 2013.
Over 4 million consoles – 4.2 million – have been sold according to Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House, who made the announcement at CES in Sony’s keynote.
In addition to consoles, software sales figures were strong as well. Between November 15th and December 28th 2013, 9.7 million PlayStation 4 games were sold both at retail and digitally via the PlayStation Network. Also, PS Plus subscriptions increased by 90 percent between the PS4 launch in North America and the end of the year
This compares with Microsoft, who announced sales of 3 million for Xbox One on Monday.
