While the console downloadable games have seen Doom and Duke come and go, the original id Software shooter Wolfenstein 3D will have a go at the format as it finally has an announced release date for next week.
The title will hit the Xbox LIVE Arcade service on Wednesday, June 3, while it launches on the Playstation Network for Playstation 3 on Thursday, June 4. The download will pack the game’s original six episodes, meaning players will have 60 levels to tackle.
The retro release breaks the ice for gamers as a brand new entry in the Wolfenstein franchise will hit the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on August 7.
