Virtual Console Wrap-up – 4/27

An interesting thing happened at DHGF HQ this morning. It seems Nintendo released a game on the VC this week that none of us have actually played. This week sees the release of Nobunaga’s Ambition from the SNES. And while we have a few Koei fans here, this one has kind of stumped us. A few guys have something to say though, so here we go.

Nobunaga’s Ambition
Developer: Koei
Publisher: Koei
System: SNES
Original Release Date: 1994
Price: 800 Wii Points

Nathan Birch: I was a pretty big fan of Koei’s historical strategy games back in the day. I never owned this particular version, but I had both Nobunaga’s Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms III for the Genesis and played the hell out of them, usually with my brother. The fact that we managed to put aside sibling rivalry to sit in front of the TV playing these rather dense strategy games for hours on end is a testament to their quality. By all means give this one a go.

And on Wii Ware, we have Cocoto Platform Jumper, which looks interesting at 700 points. Until next week, let’s hope to get something we can actually talk about.
