Hey Dr. J,

First off, I'm glad you liked the review. Secondly, that's a good question.

One of the great things about DHGF is that we can look at games from multiple viewpoints. Let's be honest, a game's not going to differ very much between a PS3 and a 360, but we do separate reviews for each system. Why? Because different reviewers will have different opinions.

So yeah, my view may not hold much weight with those who are really into GTA-style games. Which is exactly why I mentioned it; so you'd know. However, if you're someone who's not really into that sort of thing and were curious what it was like, this review may be of more use to you.

It's also nice to take a look at things with fresh eyes. Whenever a subject becomes deluged with imitators, it's easy to lose sight of what's impressive and what's not. Coming from outside the field often offers insight that would have been missed. (not that I'm saying my writing is insightful, I mean, I made a bukkake joke for gods sake)

J - I tend to make my staff step outside their own genre choices from time to time (myself included). I feel it's important for a professional critic to step out side their comfort zone and try something new every now and then.

Not only does this give them a chance to discover a game they might have otherwise overlooked, but it also gives a fresh perspective on a title that would otherwise recieve a cookiecutter review ala other sites who put the same guys on the same guys every time.

Matt is our GTA/open world action game specialist and he reviewed the 360 version of the game if you're looking for someone who plays the every game that comes out for this genre.

While this is a good review, how can I take the opinion of a guy who has only played GTA III (which came out when- 2000?). You seriously haven't played the last three? Vice City might be the best game ever made and the recent IV is incredible...
