In retrospect, I think I was a bit harsh on the music (I’ve obviously been overruled in the court of public opinion); Bad was an oversimplification on my part, I think.

Either way, I still stand by my review of the game, but (and this will sound strange), I’m glad to hear contrary opinions. I’m glad that some of you out there do like the game, because it’s got a great history and a great concept. There are so many wonderful things going for it that the impact of missing them was felt even harder in my opinion.

But hey, that’s what reviews are for, opinions, and that’s why comments are open. I say enjoy the hell out of the game, and if you’ve never played the original three, give them a spin and see what you’re missing.

I actualy very much like the game. GRANTED they could have done much, much more had they thought it through. But aside from the “basic” errors I found this game to be EPIK and still play it to this day. But i have to ask….MUSIC = BAD???? WTF? The music fit in to the enviroment. And the fury mode music was awsome. buthey its my opinion. Either way can’t wait for the movie in 2009 because if they screw that up…well its just sad.

I actually liked this game, although the gameplay did get incredibly frustrating in the last few levels. The tether and camera also didn’t bother me, but the flying was horrible because it was so limited. And by the way, Eragon’s not as much of a rip off on Lord of the Rings as on Star Wars (with a Lord of the Ring-like world, granted).

Hey Charlie, thanks for the input! I had no idea that DHGF does book reviews; you learn something new every day. You’ll also notice I didn’t really have a big problem with the LOTR ripoff as much as I did the controls. (Which mirror my thoughts on Eragon, er, minus the controls bit. Eragon controls quite well, excellent page turning, etc).

And you know, I almost compared it to GoW but didn’t. Because you could say the gameplay is inspired by that game, but you couldn’t even begin to compare the playability. God of War plays smoothly and easily, whereas Spyro plays more like a 2 year old trying to put the square block in the round hole. They just don’t measure up to one another.

Again, let me say that all of this is coming from a fan. I’m saddened by the decline of such a wonderful franchise, and perhaps in my maudlin wistfulness I’ve been overly harsh. But I stand by my review (even if you claim it “false”). Remember, reviews are subjective. These are my thoughts and opinions because I wrote it. And if you’re willing to ditch an entire website because you disagree with a review, well, I wish you the best of luck here on the internet.

Also, Invincible is the biggest Superman ripoff of all! I mean, all the did was add mustaches. Awesome, awesome mustaches….

Hmm… In retrospect, I like Invincible better.

Are you serious? If Dawn of the Dragon is a lord of the rings rip off…what the hell is Eragon? Ok, you guys had me on the first few paragraphs, but when you said “The music is bad” well…at that point I pretty much knew you were making up this review as you went along. Oh, and the playablity is bad? Sad, really. Because it’s the same as God of War. and here I was thinking God of War was a good game…
